Head of Production

Imaginary Forces seeks a Head of Production for its West Coast studio.

 

Head of Production will oversee production staff/personnel, office PA's, Creative Directors, and artist as well as oversee the studio from all aspects and details that serve and lead creative production and clients.

 

We are looking for a go-getter who likely started as a PA with a proven track record of growth including reliability, resilience, hard work and maintaining excellence. A senior level producer (8-10+ years or experience) or current HOP/EP. Must have a willingness to work in a "roll-up-your-sleeves" environment, have a team player mentality, strong organizational skills and the ability to complete day-to-day assignments and projects with little direction.

 

The ideal HOP candidate should have experience in design and creative development, branding and identity development, live-action production, original content development, 2D and 3D animation pipelines, VFX and editorial. Knowledge and confidence to ballpark, bid and schedule projects.

 

The HOP will engage in business affairs with Business Development team, Executive Producer(s) and accounting department as well as participate in marketing efforts with the IF marketing team. HOP will work closely with EP's, post and line producers to maintain standards and productions for all shoots. All IF creatives directors are also live-action directors. The HOP / EP relationship is a crucial element to successful studio operations.

 

Imaginary Forces is a design-centric creative company, creating high end, impactful visual narratives for entertainment, brand identity, marketing and advertising, interactive and installation experiences, and storytelling.

 

KEY DUTIES

  • Develop best practices and improve processes
  • Set / maintain guidelines, goals and reward good performance
  • Manage and develop employees and creative operations
  • Work with Resource Manager to vet freelance producers, artists, interns and PA's
  • Oversee and work with IT Manager / systems department for internal goals and project related needs (rendering, security, plug-ins, scaling studio, etc)
  • General "housekeeping" of daily and weekly tasks of overseeing budgets, invoices and timesheets with production team
  • Lead the weekly production meeting

 

ABOUT YOU

  • Possesses natural leadership and organizational skills (i.e. produced large scale campaigns and teams)
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and delegate accordingly
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral. Does not shy from diplomatic conflict resolution / management (Problem Solver!)
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and think ahead, as well as be highly collaborative
  • Ability to multitask and supervise multiple ongoing projects, budgets and timelines
  • Advanced skills in Apple iWork Pages, Keynote, Google Drive, and other task management software
  • Interest and passion in operations oversight, including front desk
  • Passion in fostering young artists (creative interns) and production coordinators
