Imaginary Forces is seeking a Head of Visual Effects to oversee the Studio’s high-profile projects. This leadership position is responsible for identifying and implementing the best methods of workflow to achieve the Studio’s creative vision at the highest level. 

The Head of VFX will help set up production for each project in a technical and creative way. They must harness their in-depth knowledge of CG pipelines to direct workflows with efficiency and create solutions that support the project budget, schedule and creative goals. This role will maintain a functioning workflow for artists to focus without technical obstruction. As the Head of VFX, you must have an advanced working knowledge and understanding of on-set VFX supervision procedures and industry best practices.

Your involvement in projects will be from ideation to finish, including the initial bid, shoots and establishing a workflow through delivery. You must have the in-depth knowledge to guide teams technically in creating the highest quality of imagery as well as the leadership skills and level of communication necessary to present ideas to artists and directors.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • • Work closely with Production on bidding, budgeting and scheduling

  • • Help define the technical approach for each project

  • • Work with Creative Director and Producer to offer technical solutions

  • • Participate in meetings with directors, artists and client

  • • Ensure artists are following proper pipeline procedures and delivery specs

  • • Oversee all elements created by the CG team and give technical notes

  • • Develop processes and structure 

  • • Daily monitoring of renders 

 

Qualifications:

  • • Expert knowledge of Maya, Cinema 4D, After Effects, Houdini, Nuke and Flame

  • • Expert knowledge of CG pipeline

  • • Must have artistic eye

  • • Excellent organization and communication skills

Imaginary Forces is seeking an experienced Post Production Coordinator to join our growing production team. This role will work closely with our senior producers and our creative teams. The Post Production Coordinator will assist the producers, creative directors, and artists through production by helping organize all team members and coordinating needs between our team and the client. The main focus of the Post Production Coordinator is to work alongside the producers in managing tasks and targets crucial to project deliveries while meeting deadlines and staying on budget. This includes:

  • • Setting up project structure on the server and various online tools such as frame.io, Wiredrive, Aspera, and Slack
  • • Scheduling internal meetings, client meetings, and meetings with third-party vendors such as sound designers, colorists, and specialty artists.
  • • Managing assets from our artists and organizing them to be uploaded and sent to the client.
  • • Receiving assets from the client (via online or physical hard drive), organizing them on our internal server, and distributing them to our artists
  • • Disseminating client feedback to the team and following up with the client on any clarification or additional assets needed to address the feedback

 

Delivery tasks include:

  • • Creating delivery spreadsheets to ensure all assets are accounted for
  • • QCing deliverables
  • • Uploading assets for delivery to client via Wiredrive, Aspera, AdStream, etc. and loading hard drives for physical delivery if need be
  • • Creating and sending links to client and coordinating physical delivery via courier when necessary

 

Job Requirements:

  • • Previous experience as a VFX/Post Production Coordinator working in TV, film or commercials
  • • Highly organized, detailed and proactive
  • • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • • Ability to prioritize conflicting tasks when needed
  • • Basic understanding of common file formats and resolutions
  • • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Google Docs/Spreadsheets
  • • Basic understanding of 3D (Maya / C4D) and 2D (AE) workflows
  • • Able to remain calm and confident in a fast-paced environment
  • • Working knowledge in CETA a plus

We’re a design-driven company seeking an experienced Bidding Producer to join our growing production team. This role will work closely with our EP/Business Development team from intake through award. This will consist of consulting with and overseeing our Creative Director’s treatment (as needed), consulting with our HOP re: bid numbers and schedule as well as working with our Executive Producer on pitch tactics as it relates to the client experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • • Reviews client material to identify parameter and bid out the work needed to deliver 

  • • Creates full Statement Of Work (Budget, Bid Letter, Schedule) to outline deliverables and project goals

  • • Works closely with the Business Development team on intake calls 

  • • Prepares and creates financials on all bid packages for approval by HOP and EP’s

  • • Ensures all deliverables meet client specifications and are delivered on time

  • • Track and report work progress during the pitch phase, keeping client updated on cost/schedule changes

  • • Works directly with client up to award and production handoff 

 

Qualifications:

  • • 5+years client facing experience as a Post Production Producer in VFX and/or Motion Graphics

  • • Experience in creating thorough and precise bids for VFX and Motion Graphics

  • • Strong written and verbal skills

  • • Understanding of VFX and Motion Graphics workflow

  • • Experience with CETA is a plus
