Band of Brothers
The Emmy-nominated main title for HBO
HBO’s World War II drama is based on interviews with survivors of the Easy Company, 506th Regiments of the 101st Airborne Division, US Army. The miniseries chronicles their experience as they fight across Europe, from their training in 1942 until Japan’s surrender in 1945.
what we did
Set to a heroic track composed by Michael Kamen, our team treated film from the series to feel like footage from WWII. For the lockup of the Easy Company standing together, we cast young actors, fully outfitted them and Director Michelle Dougherty had them run a few large laps around a Hollywood block on a hot summer day. The result was a crew that looked more like battle-weary soldiers than models when we captured them on green screen.
and then...
The lineup of the soldiers became the foundation for the show’s marketing campaign, and the series won a slew of awards including Emmy and Golden Globe awards for best miniseries.
