Thunderbolts*

Main on End Title Sequence for Marvel Studios Thunderbolts*
The sequence dives into the world’s response to the newly named New Avengers. Will the public embrace them? Or reject them? Through the lens of legacy media—biting New York Post headlines, New York Times op-eds, and splashy magazine covers—it reflects a wide-ranging and emotionally charged global reaction. The world can be unforgiving. Or maybe… it might just give them a chance.

The moment the Thunderbolts stepped into the mantle of The New Avengers felt seismic. The title sequence was designed to carry that weight—capturing the uncertainty, the legacy, and the question hanging in the air: are they ready for this?

The deeper challenge was shaping audience expectation into narrative. This wasn’t just about a name change—it was a cultural response piece, tapping into the conversation already happening and signaling that Marvel wasn’t afraid to reflect on its own mythology and relationship with fans.

what we did

The team had to carefully craft the narrative arc within the title sequence—beginning with a tone of skepticism and shock, then gradually shifting toward the possibility that this group just might work together. From concept to execution, the sequence was fully storyboarded, with each frame hand-painted in Photoshop to bring that emotional evolution to life.
